Wildlife Woodcarving Workshop: Foundation
Instructor- Hal Houser
This workshop has a material fee of $13.00. A list of basic recommended tools will be supplied by the instructor, or you may purchase a toolkit from the instructor for $65.00. Material and Tool costs should be paid directly to the instructor. Fee for the Workshop is $150, payable to the “Earth Center for the Arts”.
The Foundation Workshop will have 5 sessions of 2 hours each. The tentative schedule is:
Time: 7pm-9pm on May 9, 16, 23, June 6, and June 13

You will learn about tools, techniques, materials, and resources.
Students will practice various techniques for carving and painting. Each student will complete a standing Sandpiper Decoy.

Wheel Thrown Production Level Pottery (with Master Potter, Royce Yoder)
May 22, 2011, 10 am – 4 pm $140 per Student/$130 for Members
This workshop is for the accomplished potter who wants to take their wheel throwing skills to the next level by being able to throw with consistency and tips for creating sets. Techniques will include throwing, trimming, altering thrown forms and unique handles. The lidded form, flat forms, vases and handled trays will be explored. Students will learn from a series of discussions, demonstrations and hands-on throwing to practice what they have learned. Glaze treatments, including ash, will additionally be touched upon.
